5-year old: No.
Me: Have I put your brother in timeout today?
5-year old: No.
Me: Right. It’s been a good day, hasn’t it? I like days where I don’t get mad at you and you don’t get mad at me.
5-year old, after thinking it over: I don’t care if I get mad at you.
Wife got suckered by persuasive 5 yr old into buying fruit loops cereal. I established rule that says fruit loops only “when there is no school days” (e.g. weekends). Last week was spring break. 5 year old on Tuesday said he wanted fruit loops. Told him NO because it was a Tuesday and he had to wait until Saturday. He told me that there was No school that day and that I told him when there is no school, he could have fruit loops. He got me on a legal technicality.
