The brush was broad on purpose. I think the GOP has vastly more family values offenders than the Dems. Then there is the gross hypocrisy of a party that preaches family values so aggressively and yet is caught in scandal after scandal about them. On the democratic side you got Eliot Spitzer and… and… well, who else? Sure they have their fair share of plain old criminals, but they aren’t the law and order party.
The broad is brush because the target needs so much paint.
I’m not defending this schmuck, but you used a mighty broad brush with the title of your post. I think both parties have lots of slimebags in their ranks who publicly pander to their base but privately don’t live by the words they preach. I am sure there’s some dems out there who are racist, homophobic, corporate hacks but I would not label their party with those terms.
