ok, that was brilliant. I find myself not wanting to read the book because of this review.
I’ve read it already, and this review made me want to un-read it. So what’s my take on it? It’s the same as I tell my wife about some books. It’s not a bad book. It is definitely worth reading. But when you consider all the really great books you haven’t gotten around to yet, you’d be better off going for something else.
By the way, top of that “worth your time” category? War and Peace. I read it just to say I had read it, never expected to like it at all, and by page 100 I was hooked. Fantastic novel.
